WALLS OF SMALLS

One exhibition.
Thirty works of art.
Endless installation possibilities.

On view July 25 through August 29, 2020

gallery neptune & brown presents an exhibition for the art enthusiast with a large wall and no idea how to start collecting. Walls of Smalls offers a range of small works in a variety of presentations to enable the building of a collection on a single wall; not limited by style, color, composition, or size.

Now is the perfect time to look at your walls and rethink. It can be tempting to fill a space with a single, large work of art, but Walls of Smalls proves that a collection of small works can be more dynamic, interesting, and freeing than settling for something that simply fits a space.

Our single wall spans over one-hundred years of art history and includes oil, collage, watercolor, photography, illustration, mixed media, and printmaking. This exhibition simplifies the often daunting task of starting or continuing a personal collection. Small pieces are perfect for making collecting more fun and accessible.

Walls of Smalls has the answers to your common collecting and installation questions like Can you put abstract and figurative works next to each other? (Yes!), Do all frames need to match? (No!), and Do all works need to be the same size? (Also no!). As an art enthusiast, you can curate your own home exhibition, so why not embrace the many ways you can tell the story of your collecting?
