Mark Di Suvero (1933-)

Di Suvero was born in China to Italian parents who immigrated to the US during WW II. He was schooled in California, graduating from UC Berkley in 1957. He then moved to NYC and began sculpting. In 1976, the Whitney Museum of American Art exhibited his small sculptures, and he later founded Socrates Sculpture Park. Today, he lives and works in California, and his monumental sculptures are found throughout the USA in private and public collections.
