Per Kirkeby (Danish, 1938-2018), who recently passed away, is one of Denmark's most celebrated artists, known for his painting, printmaking, and sculptures. A student of geology and a collaborator of the Fluxus movement, Kirkeby’s work questions natural form, often of Danish landscape and the human figure. In 2013 he had a retrospective, Per Kirkeby: Paintings and Sculpture, at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC. His work can be found in the Museum of Modern Art, NY; Tate Gallery, London; and more.
