gallery neptune & brown
opened in Logan Circle in July 2015, bringing together the expertise of longtime gallerists Christine Neptune and Robert Brown. After 5 years operating side by side in the Book Hill section of Georgetown, Neptune Fine Art and Robert Brown Gallery moved to a shared street-level gallery space on 14th street. Since relocating, the gallery has increased its stable to include a wide range of nationally and internationally renowned artists.

Christine Neptune founded Neptune Fine Art in New York City in 2000 after twenty years of experience in auction houses, museums, fine art publishing, and galleries to exhibit Modern and contemporary works as well as publish new editions. To date, Neptune Fine Art has collaborated with established artists including Jennifer Bartlett, Vija Celmins, Wolf Kahn, Stone Roberts, James Siena, David Row, Mickalene Thomas and Jenny Holzer. Neptune Fine Art has placed editions in The National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The Baltimore Museum of Art, The Haggerty Museum, and The Sheldon Museum of Art, among others. She has lectured on collecting works on paper, hosted print making demonstrations, supports printmaking institutions, and is a valued member of the IFPDA.

Robert Brown opened Robert Brown Gallery in 1978 in New York City and moved to Washington, D.C. in 1981. The gallery's exhibition program has included local and national, but primarily international artists. Most of these artists carry extensive biographies and can be found in private and public collections worldwide. Robert Brown is a member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association and the Appraisers Association of America.
